The Reconstruction of Libya Fund awards contracts to Egypt’s Arab Contractors

The Libya Observer, Belkacem Haftar, Director of the Reconstruction of Libya Fund, formed by the House of Representatives, has inked contracts with Ahmed Al-Assar, the chairman of Egypt’s “Arab Contractors” to launch infrastructure projects in Tobruk, Al-Bayda, and Al-Makhili.

The initial agreements include the construction of bridges in Tobruk, with future plans targeting

road networks and broader infrastructure developments.

The Fund’s Director emphasized the importance of such deals, label ling them as a “starting point” for broader initiatives

As per his statements on the side lines of the signing ceremony, the upcoming contracts will address the critical road link between Tobruk and Umm Saad, with further studies underway to enhance Libya’s eastern gateway.

This move follows dissatisfaction with previous contractors, whom Haftar criticized for delays and substandard work, failing to meet completion targets, according to Haftar’s statements
