The European Commission has confirmed €458 million in humanitarian assistance for 2026, targeting crisis-affected populations across Syria, Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan and Egypt, as global funding pressures and regional instability intensify.
Syria will receive the largest share at €210 million to support emergency relief, healthcare, food aid and basic services for 16.5 million people still in need. Palestine is allocated €124 million amid worsening conditions in Gaza and the West Bank, where more than 3.3 million people require assistance.
Lebanon will receive €100 million as displacement surges following renewed hostilities, while Jordan is set to benefit from €15.5 million to support refugee services.
Egypt will receive €8 million to assist vulnerable communities, including refugees, through education and disaster preparedness programmes. The country currently hosts over 1.5 million displaced people.
The EU said the funding will be delivered via UN agencies and NGOs, emphasizing that allocations are strictly needs-based amid growing constraints on humanitarian operations across the region.
