Will Smith Adds a New Rule to Hollywood — Straight from the Pyramids

Must read

Standing before the Giza Pyramids, global superstar Will Smith announced what he jokingly called “Rule No. 83 for movie stars”: if you’re at the Pyramids, a 360-degree photo is not optional.

The quip came in an Instagram video filmed during Smith’s visit to Giza, where he also surprised followers by singing and dancing to “Maksarat” by Egyptian hitmaker Ahmed Saad—a moment that quickly racked up thousands of likes and comments worldwide.

Smith toured the Pyramids last week, accompanied by senior officials from the Supreme Council of Antiquities, including Secretary-General Dr. Mohamed Ismail Khaled. He was briefed on the site’s history and recent discoveries before heading inside the Great Pyramid of Khufu, where admiration replaced action-movie bravado.

According to officials, the actor expressed keen interest in ancient Egyptian engineering and pledged to return to Egypt in the spring—this time with his family.

The viral clip blended 4,500-year-old monuments with modern Arabic pop, highlighting Egypt’s growing soft-power moment in the social-media age. Smith’s well-known friendship with Ahmed Saad added a personal touch, turning a routine celebrity visit into a globally shared cultural crossover.
