At a time when the Middle East is battling thoughts and actions of ISIS, attempting to shed light on the true essence of Islam, and its true merciful spirit; which asserts and holds high in esteem all forms of learning and science, news of Malala Yousefazi generous donation pops up as a cool breeze caressing our worried souls.
Malala Yousefazi, the teenage Nobel Peace Prize winner, is donating a $50,000 award to the United Nations to help rebuild schools in Gaza damaged during the recent conflict with Israel.
“Innocent Palestinian children have suffered terribly and for too long” said Malala in a statement released by UNRWA, adding “We must all work to ensure Palestinian boys and girls, and all children everywhere, receive a quality education in a safe environment. Because without education, there will never be peace,” said Malala.
On the other hand, UNRWA commented that it shares with Malala the profound belief in the importance of education as a means to lift young girls and boys out of isolation and exclusion .
I do not wish to spoil the positive energy provided by aforementioned Malala Youssefazi’s statements and kind donation, but honestly very often these days you cannot help but wonder about what is more on UN agencies highly paid officials’ job description forms, besides expressing their condemnation, appreciation and concern!!!!!!
