I don’t feel very optimistic about Kerry, the American Minister of Foreign Affairs’ visit to the Middle East … And I do have my reasons. Since Kerry’s first visit to Egypt no positive developments were witnessed in the relationship between the
American and Egyptian sides, this on one side. On the other side, Kerry’s visit to Egypt covered the Iraqi and Syrian crises, and a number of other critical matters, such as the situation in Libya, Yemen, in addition to the Egyptian-American relationship; which underwent tough times over the past period. Kerry’s talks also examined Egypt’s upcoming parliamentary elections. To tell the truth, for some reason, I don’t think that Kerry has come to the region with the intention to solve the Iraqi, Syrian crises, or sort out the issue of terrorism, and the Iranian file .… I believe that Kerry’s tour in the boiling region and Europe, which included Jordan, Brussels, and Paris is not to examine security challenges in the Middle East, but to assess the possibility of proceeding with Bush junior’s plans that were set following September 11. A tragic plan, and script that is unfolding on the Middle East stage aiming to divide the region into small helpless states . Thus, I am a little bit optimistic about setbacks witnessed by the designers of the Bush plan, and their failure to execute it precisely as planned, even though plan B and C will start to unfold. Further my optimism stems from my gut feeling that Kerry’s agenda will be obstructed by Iran, the Gulf, and Egypt.
Again optimism surfaces when I witness the drop in the popularity of Obama, a drop that I believe we are soon to see more of Actually, as plan b unfolds. I trust that the Pentagon, European, and American public opinion among others will start to express their discontent, although I don’t think that such discontent will have an impact 1 on execution of the plan .
What is upsetting at this point is the 1 fact that with the current dramatic economic situation in the Middle East, and the drastic living conditions experienced by the Syrian and Iraqi refugees, the whole world stands helpless while billions of American dollars that are being squandered by the one and only super power to fund terrorist groups in various parts of the world. All such funds are wasted in an C attempt to overthrow regimes in third world countries, to gain control over energy sources, or triumph in a game of control and supremacy, regardless of the drastic and inhuman consequences .
