Egypt’s Golden License Programme Surpasses 50 Projects as New Investments Approved

Must read

Egypt has issued eight new Golden Licenses covering investment projects worth around $1.2bn (EGP 16bn) across energy, manufacturing, logistics, transportation and food industries, the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade announced.

The fast-track approvals form part of Cairo’s strategy to accelerate private-sector investment and expand industrial production. With the latest approvals, more than 52 companies have now received the Golden License since the scheme was implemented in September 2022 under the country’s 2017 Investment Law.

The licence—often described as a “single approval” permit—allows investors to obtain land, establish operations and start projects without undergoing multiple government approvals, significantly reducing administrative procedures.

Among the newly approved projects is a vehicle assembly and manufacturing plant by MAC for Mobility Manufacturing, part of Mansour Automotive, in New 6th of October City, expected to create around 1,000 jobs.

Other major investments include a $680mn soda ash production plant, a $257.5mn wind power project by Masdar, and logistics, manufacturing and export-oriented textile projects in 10th of Ramadan and Sadat cities.

The initiative forms part of Egypt’s broader economic strategy to boost manufacturing, increase exports and attract $24.6bn in annual foreign direct investment by 2030.
