Arabia Developments has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with ElSewedy Industrial Development (a subsidiary of ElSewedy Electric Group) to develop and operate a fully integrated industrial zone spanning more than 2 million square metres in the New 6th of October City.
The project aligns with Egypt’s national strategy to boost local manufacturing and enhance domestic-content through establishment of advanced industrial zones equipped with smart infrastructure and integrated ecosystems for diverse sectors. Under the agreement, ElSewedy Industrial Development will manage the full development including infrastructure, utilities and industrial-land planning to ready the zone for investors.
At the signing ceremony, attended by Tarek Shoukry (Non-Executive Chairperson of Arabia Developments) and Ahmed El-Sewedy (CEO & Managing Director of ElSewedy Electric), Shoukry described the alliance as a cornerstone of Arabia Developments’ vision to support local industry and national growth. Ahmed El-Sewedy highlighted the partnership as a practical example of private-sector integration to drive industrial expansion, aiming to create an attractive investment environment with integrated services — from design and planning to development and operations.
The collaboration builds on ElSewedy’s track-record of establishing industrial cities across governorates including 10th of Ramadan, 6th of October, Sokhna and Sadat, supporting higher local-manufacturing rates and job creation. Arabia Developments’ deputy chairperson and CEO of Place Makers, Rabab Mostafa Abdel-Warith, noted the initiative will add significant value to the industrial sector and bolster Egypt’s position as a regional manufacturing hub.
