Egyptian Drilling Company Expands Regional Footprint with over $400mn revenues in 2024

The Egyptian Drilling Company (EDC), a key player in the Middle East’s energy sector, has announced significant strides in its regional expansion strategy, backed by the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources.

During the company’s recent General Assembly, Engineer Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, affirmed Egypt’s full support for EDC’s growing operations in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, citing the company’s high-performance rig fleet, skilled workforce, and successful international partnerships as cornerstones of its growth.

EDC currently operates 69 onshore and offshore drilling rigs, with 10 active in the Saudi market, earning commendations from Saudi Aramco. The company achieved a 97.2% rig efficiency rating over the past three years, with zero lost-time injuries, setting benchmarks for operational excellence.

Chairman Eng. Osama Kamel revealed that the company is actively expanding into India, the UAE, Qatar, Oman, Turkey, Algeria, Brazil, Thailand, and West Africa, in line with EDC’s ambition to become a regional and global leader in drilling and petroleum services.

With $406 million in 2024 revenues, over 6,000 employees, and internationally accredited training programs, EDC continues to build on its legacy of safe, efficient, and reliable energy operations.
