After a two-year hiatus, Nasr Casting Company has resumed operations, symbolizing a pivotal step in Egypt’s industrial revival. This reopening is the result of concerted efforts by Lieutenant General Engineer Kamel El-Wazir, the Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development, and Minister of Industry and Transport. His leadership has been instrumental in overcoming financial and logistical obstacles, positioning Nasr Casting once again as a vital contributor to the national economy.
Specializing in the production of ductile iron pipes, which are essential for infrastructure projects such as water and sewage networks, Nasr Casting’s revival is a significant stride towards reducing import dependency. The company is set to achieve a projected annual production capacity of 47,000 tons, adhering to international standards like ISO 2531 and EN545, which ensures the quality and reliability of their products.
Government support has been pivotal, with resources provided by the Egyptian Railways Authority to secure necessary raw materials. This strategic backing not only conserves foreign currency but also strengthens Egypt’s industrial self-sufficiency. Furthermore, the company is implementing training programs to improve worker efficiency, ensuring sustainable development and operational excellence.
Industry experts, like Ahmed Radwan from the Egyptian Industrial Federation, view this reopening as transformative, predicting a positive impact on local manufacturing and economic resilience. Nasr Casting’s revitalization is expected to provide both economic and employment benefits, reinforcing its status as an industrial powerhouse in the region.
