Sumitomo Electric Egypt is ambitiously setting its sights on elevating its export figures beyond $146 billion by 2030, with the launch of its expansive new manufacturing plant for vehicle electrical wiring harnesses. This €22 million facility will commence operations in November, marking a pivotal expansion in 10th of Ramadan City.

The company is renowned for its high-quality products, including automotive components, electronics, and energy infrastructure solutions. The new Egyptian hub is set to bolster Sumitomo’s strategic footprint in the Middle East and Africa, regions poised for significant automotive industry growth. By leveraging Egypt’s advantageous trade agreements and competitive production costs, Sumitomo aims to enhance its market presence and distribution capabilities across these burgeoning markets.
With factories already positioned in Port Said and 6th of October City, Sumitomo Electric Egypt is on track to become one of the largest production centers worldwide for automotive wiring harnesses. The facility is expected to generate approximately 3,000 jobs, further integrating into Egypt’s industrial sector.
The initiative aligns with Egypt’s national economic strategy to localize production and reduce import reliance, fostering an environment ripe for innovation and economic diversification.
