Jumia has made a bold stride with the inauguration of its largest integrated warehouse in Cairo, strategically positioned on the Suez Road. This state-of-the-art facility, spanning an impressive 27,000 square meters, represents a significant investment in Egypt’s digital infrastructure, poised to enhance delivery efficiency and bolster the country’s status as a regional e-commerce powerhouse.

The grand opening was graced by esteemed figures including Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt; Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology; and Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo. Their presence underscored the importance of this strategic development, which aligns with Egypt’s broader goals of digital transformation and economic growth.

With the promise of creating up to 10,000 jobs, Jumia’s new logistics center is a beacon of opportunity, particularly for underserved regions like Upper Egypt. This facility is not just an asset for Jumia but a catalyst for local economic empowerment, driving job creation and supporting local manufacturers.

Prime Minister Madbouly lauded Jumia’s enduring success and significant contributions to Egypt’s market. He commented, “We welcome this move by Jumia, which reflects the trust that major global companies have in Egypt’s investment climate. We look forward to more partnerships that support the state’s goals in digital transformation, the development of logistics infrastructure, and the provision of job opportunities for Egyptian youth.”

Abdellatif Olama, CEO of Jumia Egypt, expressed pride in this milestone achievement, highlighting its potential to propel innovation and growth across the region. “This new facility not only improves how we serve millions of customers and sellers across the country but also strengthens our support for local manufacturers, drives job creation, and advances Egypt’s digital economy,” Olama stated.

This investment is part of Jumia’s broader strategy to expand its infrastructure across Africa. It follows the successful launch of a new warehouse in Ivory Coast in April 2025, developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Trade. Egypt stands as a pivotal tech hub for Jumia, home to a burgeoning team of engineers developing cutting-edge digital and logistics solutions for operations throughout the continent.

As Jumia continues its trajectory of growth and innovation, it reinforces its mission to drive affordability, access, and economic inclusion across Africa.
