Egypt has received a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and EU-Grant of the Neighbourhood Investment Platform NIP for financing the Kitchener Drain Depollution Project and intends to apply part of the proceed toward financing the two contracts:
-PP1.2.1 ECEPP ID: 32705475 and EBRD-KDDP-MED-GKS PSR-1: supply, installation, and replacement of MV and LV motors, switchgears, circuit breakers, capacitor bank PFC, Digital Motor Protection Relay, and flap valve with hydraulic system of pumps for Old and new Hafir pumping stations, upper drain no.8, and El-Segaaia, drain no.4, and Mahalet Ruh pumping stations in Gharbia, and Kafr El-Sheikh governorates.
– PP 1.2.2-ECEPP ID:32705629 and EBRD-KDDP MED G KS PSR 2: Supply of five (5) emergency lifting pump stations for the Emergency Centre no.3 in Kafr El-Sheikh.
- The Mechanical and Electrical Department within the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation in the Arab Republic of Egypt invites eligible bidders to submit their documents in the two above-mentioned tenders.

- The deadline for receiving the technical and financial offers electronically is 18/3/2025 at (12:00 pm) Cairo time. Bidders who meet the eligibility requirements shall submit the technical and financial offer according to the requirements in the tender documents. Bids shall be submitted electronically through the EBRD Client e-procurement Portal website https://ecepp.ebrd.com.
- All the bidders shall furnish/submit bid security in the form of a letter of guarantee issued from an Egyptian Bank or any foreign bank supported by a correspondent bank in Egypt the bid security total amount shall be:
- EUR 32,000 or the equivalent in EGP for the tender PP1.2.1
- EUR 25,000 or the equivalent in EGP for the tender PP1.2.2
- All bidders’ inquiries must be submitted in writing through the ECEPP-EBRD; the deadline for receiving the inquiries is 4/3/2025. The site visit date will be published through the ECEPP portal. In addition, a clarifications meeting will be organized the following day at the MED headquarters in the Governmental District of the New Administrative Capital.
- The contact person in an emergency is the head of the project sector within MED, the 2nd floor of MWRI Headquarters in the Governmental District of the New Administrative Capital.
