Discussions with Chairman of Emaar Properties to Increase his Investments in Egypt

On 6 March 2017, during her visit to Dubai, the Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Dr. Sahar Nasr met with the Emirati investor Mohammed Alabbar, Chairman of Emaar Properties, on the sidelines of the 13th Investment Forum of Hermes Group.

Within this framework, the Minister emphasized that she gave priority to taking the procedures necessary for fostering an attractive investment climate and improving the business environment, which would contribute to enhancing economic development efforts and deliver the targeted growth rates.
The Minister also indicated that an investment map was being developed in collabouration with all ministries, given that the map would cover all investment opportunities nationwide, including airports, ports and industrial, free and investment zones, in line with Egypt’s vision to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Mr. Alabbar expressed his willingness to increase his investments in Egypt during the upcoming period, especially in light of the Egyptian government’s launching of several projects for investors, among of which were the New Administrative Capital and the Suez Canal Axis Development, which would significantly contribute to achieving development in Egypt.
The Minister commended Emaar Properties’ investments in Egypt and its role in achieving development, while emphasizing that injecting new investments would help achieve targeted development and provide job opportunities, and that was what the government sought to achieve.
