Head of AFA: Total production of Arab Cement in 2015 amounted to 100 million tons

Eng Abu Al Maaty, Head of Arab Fertilizers Association (AFA), and Head of Abu Qir Co., revealed that the total production of Arab Cement in 2015 amounted to about 100 million tons and its exports amounted to about 58 million tons, referring that the region’s share of gas is 30 percent of the global stock, and 70 percent of Phosphate. He added that the Arab world possess 35 percent of the global market of Urea, 64 percent of Phosphate, 62 percent of Super Phosphate, 58 percent of Phosphoric acid, and possess 30 percent of global exports as well.

Abu Al Maaty noted that there is a chance of exchanging the practices and innovations to develop the individual and collective experiences, utilise the best use of resources, and adopt new methods and ideas for achieving a better future for the food security. “We achieved in Egypt a specific breakthrough by increasing and diversifying the Phosphate fertilizers, which amounted to about 21 million tons of Azotey Cement; 9 million tons out of them are used in the local market and the remaining are allocated for exportation,” illustrated Abu Al Maaty.

Abu Al Maaty said that there are several future projects like Delta for Cement, which produces 396 thousand tons of Ammonia, and Kima-Aswan Factory, which produces about 396 tons of Ammonia, 530 thousands of Urea, and 240 thousand tons of Nitrates. Moreover, there are Projects like Al Nasr Company at Al Ain Al Sokhna Complex for Intermediate Chemicals, with a production capacity of 125 thousand tons of Sulfuric, and the industrial complex in Abu Tartour at New Valley containing 8 companies with a productive capacity of 3 million tons of Sulfuric annually, and MOBOCO projects which produce 2 million tons of Urea , and Abu Qir Fertilizers Co. which annually produces 200 thousand tons of Sulfuric Acid and Nitrates, and plans to amounting its productivity to 320 thousand tons per year.
