Minister of International Cooperation Dr Sahar Nasr received Finland’s Ambassador to Egypt Ms TuulaYrjölä, to discuss efforts exerted to enhance cooperation between both countries.
Dr. Nasr welcomed Ms Yrjölä and discussed cooperation relations between Egypt and Finland, as well as activating bilateral economic and technical cooperation in various fields, especially education -given that Finland enjoys extensive experience in this field.
During the meeting, both sides discussed ongoing projects, including the procurement of 4 dredgers (multi-purpose equipment) financed by a soft loan worth EUR 305m in favor of the Ministry of Agriculture to be used in north lakes. It is known that two booster bumps have been procured to cleanse and remove water raisins from northern lakes and to clear all infiltration on Lake Burullus and Lake El-Manzala.
Such equipment is expected to contribute in establishing the largest fish farm east Port-Said – near Port Fouad- within the Suez Canal axis. The project is expected to cover 23 thousand feddans with a total cost of EGP 275m and to produce 85 thousand tons of fish and mullet. WHEN?
