Egypt –Romania Talks Must Continue

Must read

I visited Romania more than once during the days when trade between Romania and Egypt was regular and the balance of trade was consistent. I believe that the return of trade between Egypt and Romania will offer export opportunities for Egyptian products as Romania is the gate of Egyptian products to Eastern Europe, which is known for moderate prices and ease of understanding in dialogues with Egypt, especially that Romania is interested in importing Egyptian fertilizers and the Romanian markets depend on Egyptian fertilizers. The Romanian economy is based a great deal on agriculture and it is in Egypt’s best interest that constant communication are given attention, taking into account our giant national venture, namely the reclamation of 1.5 million feddans and benefiting from the Romanian experience in the field of agricultural equipment and machinery. I see, from my numerous visits to this country, that both sides should continue with the meetings for their own best interests.

In my view, the resumption of meetings will lead to results satisfactory to both parties through which the Egyptian products could achieve great competitive advantages. This was confirmed by the Egyptian Commercial Representation Office in Bucharest, explaining that the number of Egyptian companies registered in Romania amounts to around 1650, with a capital of dlrs 37 million. I recommend the continuity of meetings between the two countries until the doubling of trade between the two countries is reached.
