Ministry of Petroleum: Petrochemicals attracts investors

Eng. Tarek Al-Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, said that the petrochemical industry tops the Egyptian strategic sectors and is a cornerstone of development that contribute to maximising petroleum resources added value.

In a statement for the minister, he pointed out the petrochemical industry’s potentials in Egypt, stressing on the significance of the expansions of MOPCO, Misr Fertilizers Production Company, ethylene and polyethylene production that has investments worth $4bn.

These projects were recently opened by President El-Sisi; they have pointed out the importance of petrochemical industry in attracting investments.

Furthermore, these projects set Egypt’s priorities straight as Egypt first priority should be expanding petrochemical projects and increase local production. Such a trend towards increasing petrochemical projects contributes to hiking the added value of petroleum resources.
